Dacia 2024: Record figures, bestsellers and new destinations
Dacia on the road to success! The budget brand of the Renault-Nissan alliance is still able to increase sales figures, especially in Germany, but also throughout Europe. We have taken a closer look at this.
Dacia closed 2024 with a significant increase in its market presence in Europe. The Renault subsidiary sold 676,340 vehicles, an increase of 2.7 percent compared to the previous year. The market share in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles reached 3.9 percent, while in the passenger car segment alone it was 4.5 percent.

The brand was particularly successful in the European private customer market, where Dacia achieved a market share of 8.2 percent. This underlines the manufacturer's position as the preferred choice of private buyers.
Sandero as the star of private buyers
The Sandero remains the brand's flagship product. With 309,392 units sold in 2024, it is the best-selling vehicle in Europe across all sales channels. In addition, it has led the private customer market since 2017, confirming its role as a volume model.

The Dacia Duster recorded a total of 215,024 new registrations in 2024, an increase of 7.3 percent compared to the previous year. And this despite the fact that a model change took place in 2024. It has been the best-selling SUV on the private market since 2018 and ranked second among the best-selling vehicles to private customers in Europe in 2024, behind only the Dacia Sandero.
All-electric Spring loses
The Jogger, the flexible family model, achieved 96,440 sales and established itself as a solid size in the C-segment of the private market. In contrast, the all-electric Dacia Spring recorded a decline of 22,884 units, mainly due to the reduction of government subsidies.

In Germany, Dacia achieved new records in 2024. With 71,424 vehicles, the brand set a new record and increased its market share to 2.5 percent. The strong position in the private customer segment is particularly striking: Here, Dacia achieved the highest market share to date with 5.8 percent. Three-quarters of all new registrations were for private customers, which is an exceptional figure in the German market.

Full throttle in 2025
For 2025, Dacia announces the introduction of new models and technologies. In May, the Bigster is to be presented as a new family SUV that expands the portfolio upwards. At the same time, the manufacturer is focusing on the electrification of its vehicle range. Hybrid variants of the Jogger, Duster and Bigster are planned, which are intended to expand the range with sustainable drive options. In addition, Dacia expects to sell its one millionth vehicle in Germany, another milestone in the brand's history.
With a focus on affordable and hands-on vehicles, Dacia remains successful even in a competitive environment. The sales figures and broad acceptance in the consumer segment underpin the brand's strategy of combining an attractive price-performance ratio with simple and robust models.
